Elden Ring Dectus Medallion Locations And How To Find Both Halves

11 August 2026 | 83

Navigating the sprawling landscape of Elden Ring requires adventurers to constantly seek new passages into highly contested regions. One of the most significant progression milestones involves gaining entry to the Altus Plateau via the Grand Lift of Dectus. To operate this massive mechanical elevator, players must track down two distinct halves of a split medallion hidden across the Lands Between.

Finding the Dectus Medallion Left Half in Limgrave

The journey to assemble the key begins in the relatively manageable terrain of East Limgrave. Players need to travel to Fort Haight, a structure situated along the eastern coastline overlooking the misty woods. The fort is initially occupied by hostile forces that must be cleared out to explore safely.

After entering the main courtyard, scale the battlements and head toward the highest tower on the right side. Inside this tower, a ladder leads up to a small chest resting on the roof platform. Opening this container rewards you with the left half of the medallion, which primarily depicts the ancient Erdtree structure.

Locating the Dectus Medallion Right Half in Caelid

Securing the second half requires a dangerous trek into the rot-infested eastern territory known as Caelid. Players must brave the treacherous northern sub-region called Dragonbarrow to find Fort Faroth. This location is notoriously difficult due to high-level enemies lurking within the dark corridors.

Upon reaching the fort, swiftly navigate past the aggressive giant bats that guard the initial entrance hall. Look for a ladder located toward the back of the primary room and climb to the roof. The chest holding the right half sits immediately at the top of this ladder, allowing players to escape without engaging the spectral soldiers below.

Activating the Grand Lift of Dectus

With both halves securely tucked away in your inventory, you are fully prepared to bypass the dangerous alternative cliffside paths. Travel to the northernmost point of Liurnia of the Lakes where the massive Grand Lift stands. Approach the circular platform situated between the two giant guardian statues.

A contextual prompt will appear, allowing you to hoist the conjoined medallion pieces into the air. This action triggers a majestic cinematic sequence that safely delivers your character directly into the Altus Plateau. From this point, you can easily establish a new checkpoint and begin exploring the mid-game content at your own pace.
